Our Active Committee launched our Food Dudes refresher week on May 25th 2026. Food Dudes is Ireland's national healthy eating programme for primary schools. It works by positively changing children's attitudes towards eating fresh fruit and vegetables. This is achieved by combining three key elements - repeated tasting, rewards and role modelling - on a recurring 4-year cycle.

This past month the children of third and fourth class have been learning about the Vikings, the Bronze Age and the Irish artist Jack B. Yeats. The children of fifth and sixth class have been learning about the Irish Famine. To support these topics we went on an educational tour to Dublin City where the younger classes visited the National Gallery and the National Museum and the older classes visited the Jeannie Johnston ship and the EPIC Emigration Museum. Click through the galleries below to see pictures from these great outings!

Cycle & Climb Coffee Morning at St. Andrew's N.S.

We were delighted to host a coffee morning on Friday 5th of September for the Cycle and Climb fundraiser. We raised €300. The cyclists were delighted with the children's artwork and their enthusiastic send off. Thank you to all who came to support.
The cyclists successfully completed the cycle on Saturday and they climbed Croagh Patrick on Sunday morning. Former St. Andrew's teacher Ms McWalter organised posters, welcoming the Meath cyclists, to be displayed in the local school at the base of Croagh Patrick. Comhghairdeas le gach duine!
