Boy with a suitcase
An article by Matthew Webb – 2nd class
We went to the Draíocht theatre to see a play in Blanchardstown. We went on a bus with a television. When we arrived we walked into a big building. We sat in tiered seats. The play was about a teenage boy who was separated from his family in the war. He went on seven voyages and ended up in Dublin. He thought his journeys were like Sinbad’s. He ended up washing cars in Dublin. He was happy to arrive but missed his family.

On Monday the 8th of February we went on a school trip to Draíocht. We set off at 11.30am on the bus. We brought a packed lunch. The play was called ‘Boy with a suitcase’. It was about a boy that had to leave his family because of war. He travelled to Dublin by boat to his brother. Here he had a better life, cleaned cars to get money and became happy. On the way back to school we ate lunch, we arrived back at the school at 2pm after a very enjoyable day.

I liked the trip to An Draíocht to see this play. We went on a coach and that was fun. Th. The play was about a boy’s adventures as he travelled around the world. He met a girl along the way and they became great friends. They got a job and made clothes for homeless people. They had many adventures and lost each other but met up in Dublin. They decided to live in Dublin. I really enjoyed it.
