Feast of St. Andrew - 30th of November
We attended Mass for the Feast of St. Andrew on 30th of November. Thank you to Fr. Kevin who told us all about the Patron Saint of Curragha. Robyn & Noah from Junior Infants lit the Advent Candle. Girls & boys from 5th and 6th class did readings and prayers of the faithful.
Hymn to St. Andrew
Jesus calls us; o'er the tumult Of our life's wild, restless sea, Day by day His sweet voice sounding, Saying, "Christian, follow Me." As of old Saint Andrew heard it. By the Galilean lake, Turned from home and toil and kindred, Leaving all for His dear sake. In our joys, and in our sorrows, Days of toil, and hours of ease, Still He calls, in cares and pleasures, That we love Him more than these. Jesus calls us by Thy mercies, Saviour, may we hear Thy call; Give our hearts to your obedience, Serve and love you best of all. |
Catholic Schools Week 2022
Friday
As Catholic Schools Week comes to a close, we are asked to think about how we live life to the full and face the future. The COVID-19 pandemic brought so many changes and challenges to our lives. As we reflect on this, we look forward with hope to the future. While we have come through these dark days, through Jesus’ death and resurrection we are reminded that even the darkest days give way to the dawn. Together, as a community that is kind and cares for each other, we look to the future with the hope and the joy of the resurrection. Lord, help us to live like you taught us to. Together we pray the prayer that Jesus taught us: Our Father …
Prayer for Grandparents on Wednesday
Lord Jesus, you were born of the Virgin Mary, the daughter of Saints Joachim and Anne.
Look with love on grandparents the world over. Protect them!
They are a source of enrichment for families, for the Church and for all of society. Support them!
As they grow older, may they continue to be for their families strong pillars of Gospel faith,
guardians of noble domestic ideals, living treasuries of sound religious traditions.
Make them teachers of wisdom and courage, that they may pass on to future generations the fruits of their mature human and spiritual experience. Amen.

A big thank you to our Parents' Association who hosted a fantastic end of year Summer Party on Friday 17th of June in the school hall. Pupils danced the night away to their favourite tunes and enjoyed lots of fun activities!

Summer Holidays
To mark the end of another great year, we were treated to ice-creams as we left for our holidays!
After 2 years of ‘bubbles’ and ‘pods’ we returned to a collaborative and happy school again in February. This year saw our pupils enjoy bodhrán, football, drama, athletics, chess, rounders, zumba, gymnastics, ukulele rugby & swimming. Our school tours to Tayto Park, Armagh Planetarium, Malahide Castle, Dublin Zoo, Crystal Maze and our first ever overnight trip to Tanagh Adventure Centre were all a huge success. We took part in the Amber Flag, Blue Flag and Active Flag initiatives which have further enriched our school experience. Our annual Sports Day returned in all its glory with the Red team winning the Mark Mooney Memorial Cup. Hosting Irish Grand National winners at school and 6th class being hosted by An Taoiseach Micheal Martin on Europe Day are two stand out memories of this year. Check out our class pages on this site for more activities!
I would like to congratulate our 6th class who graduated this year. They have contributed greatly to our school during their time with us, through their academic, musical and sporting achievements. I wish them continued success in their respective secondary schools next year. We bid a very special farewell to the Feane, Heather, and Ronan families whose youngest child is now leaving the school.
I look forward to welcoming all our students, especially our incoming Junior Infant class on Monday 29h of August.
I wish you all a happy and healthy summer.
