AISTEAR PLAY (Grupaí Spraoi)

As part of the infant curriculum this year we are currently implementing a new
curriculum framework programme called Aistear (meaning journey). Aistear
aims to provide enriching, challenging and enjoyable learning opportunities
for children through play. For junior and senior infant children play is central
to their well-being, development and learning. The children have really
enjoyed the themes and activities we have completed so far and they have been
recording all their work in their Grupaí Spraoí books. Some of the themes we
have explored this year have been:
The Garage, The Shop, The Hairdressers,
The Dental Surgery, and The Home.
