Congratulations to 3rd and 4th class for completing the Blue Star Programme and receiving their certificate and flag. This was an ongoing project on the European Union and the countries of Europe. The children completed the various elements of the programme including historical, geographical and cultural learning and information on the seven European Institutions. Highlights included our presentation of Europe Day for parents, the video interview with Ms Nina Carberry MEP and our recent trip to Dáil Eireann. Congratulations to the 24 children from 4-6th classes who represented our school so brilliantly at the recent Féile Fichille Chess Day. Our Master’s teams placed 2nd and 5th respectively out of 11 teams and our Bud’s team placed 3rd out of 7 teams so we are very proud of their achievements. Our 1st Master’s team (The Ruthless Rooks) will now go forward onto the next round at Simonstown Gaels GAA Hall on Wednesday 2nd April. |
Congratulations to the children who represented St. Andrew's N.S. at the annual FAI 5 a side competition in Navan. Our junior teams both did very well, finishing 3rd in their preliminary groups. Our senior teams both progressed to the knockout stage. Our boys team went through and will compete in the Meath final, Our girls team narrowly missed qualification, coming second in the knockout competition. Congratulations to top scorers Keelan and Hannah and a very special well done to JP and Luke who subbed in and made their school soccer debut!
