Wool2Ewe Workshop
Through the Heritage in Schools initiative Lorna McCormack visited first and second class on Thursday 13th February. We explored the world of wool, from its origins to its many uses. Through the Wool2Ewe box, Lorna provided the children with hands on experiences and taught them about Irish wool and textiles. We were fortunate to have wool and photos of Kerri's alpacas in our classroom.
Visit to Ashbourne Library
First and Second class visited Ashbourne Library to meet author and illustrator Tatyana Feeney. Tatyana answered lots of our questions before reading her most recent book The Wishing Tree both in Irish and English. The children then illustrated their own wishes with Tatyana. We really enjoyed our morning in Ashbourne Library.
